Twisted Surrey Police officer jailed for child sex abuse

A Surrey Police officer has been convicted of sex offences and sentenced to seven years and a half years in prison.

PC David Harriott, aged 61, of Old Field Road in Horley, was on secondment to the National Police Air Service, from 2012-2015 and previously the Air Support Unit at the time of the offences and has been suspended since his arrest on July 3, 2015.

David Harriott appeared for trial at Winchester Crown Court and was sentenced to seven and a half years for the following charges:

  • 2 counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13
  • 1 count of assault of a child under 13 by penetration
  • 1 count of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
  • 7 counts of making indecent photographs of a child

The offences occurred between 2008 and 2015.
